Join us in cooking for and participating in a Quiceañera celebration in a traditional mezcal community! We will be helping to butcher and cook goats for a traditional barbacoa (earth oven barbecue), consomé, salsas, and handmade tortillas that will be served at the party and the next day partake in the feasting, dancing, and mezcal drinking. This trip is perfect for cooking enthusiasts and those who want to experience an authentic celebration deep in the heart of mezcal country. Most of the first day will be spent in the kitchen and hanging around the traditional mezcal palenque and relaxing at Rancho Los Nahuales. The second day will be spent learning more about traditional mezcal and joining the Quinceañera celebration.
