Includes:

Personalized guide and translation (Spanish/English)
Comfortable transportation round trip from Oaxaca city (1 hour each way)
Participate in the traditional Day of the Dead celebrations in the homes of our community partners in Teotitlán
Learn about natural dyes, weaving, and beeswax candle making directly from the artisans
Visit to the cemetery and participate in the creation of the altar, learn about Day of the Dead traditions in Teotitlán
Travel to Mitla to participate in their Day of the Dead festivities and visit traditional altars in family homes
Lunch and dinner of traditional dishes served during this holiday (moles, tamales, hot chocolate, bread)
Drinking water and light snacks
Donation to women's cooperative annual project

Open Outings are designed for 2-6 participants and are open for travelers from different groups to join. You will see these Experiences marked as Open Outings on our Calendar and if you click on the date you will see how many spots are available.
You can join an upcoming scheduled experience, click on the event to find out if there are spots available to join us on an adventure! You can sign up until 5:00pm the day before the scheduled outing.
We cannot accommodate Experiences for 1 person. As a solo traveller you are welcome to join an already scheduled Open Outing or we can schedule a new outing and see if other travelers would like to sign up, please allow at least 5 days for us to promote these outings. Please write to us with any questions you may have!
You can begin to book a new experience when there is an open date by writing to us here. We can host up to 2 different experiences per day. We cannot book a new experience with less than 24 hours notice. For best availability consider booking with 5 days anticipation.
If you would like a Private Outing for your group only, let us know in your message to us. For groups of less than 4 people this will incur an additional cost of $50 USD/950 MXN per person.
Larger groups: We accomodate groups of 7-25 for most of our outings if they are travelling together. We can create unique experiences for groups for 26-100 people, write to us here for more information.
