Quick tamales and fresh fruit en route
Two hour guided walk through the Sierra Norte woods with a local guide from the community (the walk is leisurely as we will be stopping and learning about mushrooms and the history of the area along the way)
Mushroom foraging and identification with local guide
A chance cook up some of the edible mushrooms we collect with a cocinera traditional
Lunch of regional dishes such as local trout grilled with mushrooms, tostadas, and amarillo accompanied by our selection of traditional mezcal
Drinking water and light snacks
Donation to reforestation effort in the area

Open Outings are designed for 2-6 participants and are open for travelers from different groups to join. You will see these Experiences marked as Open Outings on our Calendar and if you click on the date you will see how many spots are available.
You can join an upcoming scheduled experience, click on the event to find out if there are spots available to join us on an adventure! You can sign up until 5:00pm the day before the scheduled outing.
We cannot accommodate Experiences for 1 person. As a solo traveller you are welcome to join an already scheduled Open Outing or we can schedule a new outing and see if other travelers would like to sign up, please allow at least 5 days for us to promote these outings. Please write to us with any questions you may have!
You can begin to book a new experience when there is an open date by writing to us here. We can host up to 2 different experiences per day. We cannot book a new experience with less than 24 hours notice. For best availability consider booking with 5 days anticipation.
If you would like a Private Outing for your group only, let us know in your message to us. For groups of less than 4 people this will incur an additional cost of $50 USD/950 MXN per person.
Larger groups: We accomodate groups of 7-25 for most of our outings if they are travelling together. We can create unique experiences for groups for 26-100 people, write to us here for more information.
